OHSET MOVES ON TO STATE IN MAY - CONGRATULATIONS!
Varsity Boys Basketball plays in the OSAA State Championship Quarterfinals at 8:15pm on Thursday night against Creswell at Marshfield HS. Tickets are $10/$6
We are excited to offer our high school students the opportunity to ride the rooter bus to support our team on Thursday night. If you are interested, you must have the permission slip and $12 cash turned in to the front office no later than 3:10 on Wednesday afternoon. Bus will depart at 5:00pm and return at approximately 1:30am. We must have at least 20 students signed up for this to happen. Let’s pack the gym with Billie Blue!
There will be a Medical Club meeting this Friday at lunch in room 9. We have news about a volunteer opportunity and will be voting on our t-shirt design.
The Chess club will resume their weekly meetings after school in the library on Thursday, March 13th, and will continue to meet on Thursdays for the remainder of the year.

There is an FFA sheep and goat meeting during middle school lunch in room 1. There will be a high school sheep and goat meeting in Ms. White’s room during HS lunch.
Any middle school student who is interested in Shakespeare Club and would like more information, please stop by Ms. Hill's room 3 at the very start of lunch today. This is a chance to ask questions, get more information, or pick up an application if you haven't had a chance to do so yet. Applications are due Friday!
Sophomores and Juniors, applications are open until March 21st for HOPE Factory and HOPE EMS experience. To apply, scan the QR codes on the flyer located in the HS Counseling office or on the TV screens.
Today is the last day to order AP tests. If you would like to opt-in or add tests to your AP order please see Clarrissa in the High School Counseling Office by the end of day today.

McKenzie Watershed Council is offering a scholarship for students who plan on attending a community college or 4-year college or university. This scholarship is for those students with a natural resource related major or stating intent within the application declaring an eligible field. Students will need to be enrolled full time while in college. The application due date is April 1st.

Hey REACH & Honor Society Members! Next Tuesday during lunch, please join us in Room 13 to learn about 15th Night, a program that connects teens with resources. They are interested in connecting with students like you who are involved in community service projects. Lunch will be provided. Please RSVP, so we know how much pizza to order!
Come out and support your Mr. Billie contestants at our annual dodgeball tournament on Saturday, at 6:30pm in the high school main gym. Tickets are only $2 at the door. Come and enjoy your evening while supporting this great cause!
This is a reminder that the Fiber Arts Club is today after school in Room 17. Come check it out! Bring your crochet, knit, embroidery, or other similar project to work on. Hang out, eat snacks, and have fun. If you are interested in the club but do not have a project, Ms. Watne has some things you can try out.
The Pleasant Hill Education Foundation (PHEF) would like to invite you to come to our "Winter Blues Gala", on Saturday, February 22 at 6:00pm. This year's event will be held at the UO Ford Alumni Center off of Franklin Blvd. We will be having live music from Donny Raye and the Blues Foundation, along with dinner, silent auction, and a few live auction items. Please come out and help support our district. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year. You can purchase tickets on our website at www.phillfoundation.org. This event is for 21 and over.

Join us for our PHHS CTE Open House on Wednesday night, from 6:00-7:30pm. This will feature our CTE students, classrooms, and facilities. Several of our students will be showcasing projects and demonstrating activities. Teachers will share projects and community service events which provide learning opportunities for our students. Come check it out!
Lane will once again offer a tuition free course to juniors, seniors, and current GED students. This is for spring or summer 2025 (not both). Students interested in this opportunity will need to choose one of the terms. For questions, please contact Brenda Williams at WilliamsB@lanecc.edu.
HS Students - come and support our Varsity Girls Basketball team as they take on Creswell tomorrow night in the League Championship game at 6pm! There are 40 spots available on the rooter bus and we need at least 20 HS students to sign up before 1:30 Friday afternoon. If we get enough students signed up, the bus will leave the school at 5pm. Students will need to bring $3 for admission to the game.
Varsity Girls Basketball team plays today in the MVC League playoffs at Creswell at 6pm. The first 33 PHHS students will get in for free. For your free ticket, please check in with Mr. McClain at the Creswell entrance.
HS Wrestling competes in the Special District 3 Championships at Coquille HS on Saturday.
Varsity Boys Basketball plays at home on Saturday at 1:00 in the MVC League playoffs.
Wrestling won districts and qualified 9 wrestlers for the state tournament this weekend.
Cheerleading took first place at the OCCA Championships.
Girls Basketball won the MVC tournament and earned the #5 seed for the state playoffs.
Boys Basketball won the MVC tournament and had an undefeated league season. They earned the #2 seed for the state playoffs.

All HS Track, Softball, and Baseball athletes must be fully registered through Final Forms and have a current sports physical before the first day of practice, which is March 3. Two McKenzie-Willamette Emergency Department Nurses and a Labor and Delivery Nurse will be answering questions about their careers and working at a large hospital tomorrow during 5th period in room 9. If you are interested in hearing what they have to say and if it's ok with your 5th period teacher, you are welcome to join the discussion. Contact Mrs. Vough if you have any questions.

Starting Wednesday, we will be turning on our bell system for the middle and high schools. The bells will denote the beginning and end of classes to help everyone navigate passing periods more efficiently.
Middle and High School students showing a Heifer OR Steer at the Lane County Fair should attend the mandatory cattle meeting in room 1 today at lunch. Important information will be shared on care, management, and training. Please come with photos of animals so that we can help you manage your project for success. Also, please bring your complete, mandatory market forms to the meeting.

Congratulations to the wrestling team for taking first place in the Lutz Invitational wrestling tournament this weekend! 1st place winners, Jack Quinones, Nolan Perkins, Bryson Boyles, Boone Marquess, Zaira Duarte. 2nd place Rangle Marquess, 4th place Vedder Anderson, 5th place Jace Harris, Peyton Buckley, and 6th place Kaidan Bergow.

If you’d like to take a tour of the Springfield Welding School, please sign up in the HS Counseling office. The field trip will take place on Dec. 17, from 9:30-noon. Spots are limited, so sign up now!
The Holiday Gift Drive runs for the next two weeks. Please bring unwrapped new gifts for children of a variety of ages. Here are some commonly requested items: art supplies, action figures, dolls, board games, construction toys, toy horses, Hot Wheels, and infant toys. Thank you for your generosity and for making the season bright for our community!
Come visit the library and our seasonal book wrapping station! Select a free book and wrap it as a present for the upcoming holiday season! The library offers traditional wrapping paper as well as cloth. Come learn the ancient Japanese art of wrapping cloth, also known as Furoshiki.
Congratulations to the sophomores for winning the Holiday Food Drive reward! All sophomores will be released during the last 10 minutes of 2nd period to enjoy Hot Cocoa in the HS commons on Friday. Our local families appreciate your generosity. Thank you!

The high school bands and choir will be performing at Roaring Rapids Pizza Co. tonight. Choir performs at 5pm and bands at 6pm. Roaring Rapids will be donating a percentage of proceeds to the Pleasant Hill music program to help us raise money for our trip to San Francisco this spring. Please come out to hear great music, eat pizza, and help us raise funds!
Mr. Gray will be hosting two guest speakers on December 16 - Renee Clough, and a visitor from OSU College of Engineering. If you’d like to learn about Surveying and Engineering, please join us in room 14 during 1st or 2nd period. If you are interested in OSU’s Engineering programs, please go to room 14 during 4th period. This is open to all high school students. If you plan on attending any of these informational sessions, please first check in with your teacher, then sign in when entering Mr. Gray’s room.
Come learn about various December holidays in the Library! We have displays explaining the histories and traditions of Kwanzaa, Hanukkah and Yule. There are crafting opportunities and an educational scavenger hunt as well. Come down to the Library and learn about these beautiful holidays!

Varsity Football plays at home tonight against Madras at 7pm. This is senior night!
There will be a lunch meeting on Tuesday for those students who are interested in working with kids, gaining leadership skills and volunteer hours, while having fun. Middle school students will meet in the commons and high school students will be meeting in room 13.
There will be student rooter buses available for the state playoff games this week. Girls Soccer plays St. Mary's in Medford on Wednesday at 5pm. That rooter bus will depart PHHS at 2pm.
Dear students and staff,
Many of the veterans expressed to me their delight and appreciation for our Assembly last Thursday. They were deeply impressed by our willingness to stay quiet and attentive. And they loved, loved our Applause Tunnel. Thank you staff who helped encourage kids to be respectful and joined in the Applause Tunnel and helped in other ways.

PHHS will be hosting our annual blood drive on Friday, from 8:30-1:30 in the Aux Gym. Appointments are filled, but they are still accepting drop-ins. Blood donors must be at least 16 years old. Students who are 16 will need parental consent and these forms are available in the front office.
The Holiday Food Drive has officially begun! Please bring your non-perishable food donations to the teacher that is collecting for your grade level before the end of November. Food suggestions - canned pumpkin, evaporated milk, stuffing mix, chicken broth, olives, cranberry sauce, jello, pie filling, canned yams, cake & brownie mix, and canned fruit. Your donation will help provide a bright holiday season for families in our community. Thank you!

Honor Society members, your PROJECT PROPOSALS are due before Thanksgiving break. Please turn them in on Classroom for approval. The EVALUATION section will be due toward the end of the year, once you finish your project. Talk to Ms. Bonaventure if you have questions.
The Pleasant Hill School District Community Service Team will be distributing Christmas food and gift baskets to those in need in our community. If your child attends school in the Pleasant Hill School District and you are in need of a food basket and/or children’s gifts, please complete the request form, and return only the bottom portion, between now and December 2nd to either Pleasant Hill school office. Forms are available in the front office.

We would like to take a rooter bus to Creswell to cheer on our Girls Soccer team tonight at 6:30. This is open for K-12 students (K-5 students must be accompanied by their parent or coach). Students/parents will need to sign up in the HS front office The bus will depart PHHS at 6pm.
Please make sure you keep up with returning all of your library books. You will be billed for any overdue items.
7th and 8th grade girls basketball players - remember to complete the online registration in FinalForms for this upcoming season. You must have a current sports physical on file in order to participate. Sports fees are due before the first game. Our last open gym will be this Sunday at 6:30 in the Blue Gym. See you there!
Helpers are needed to run craft and game stations at the elementary school’s Pumpkin Party. This event will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 23, from 5:15-7pm in the Community Center. The Homecoming Dance is Saturday, Oct. 26th, from 8-11 pm in the student center. Tickets are $5 at the door. If you are bringing someone from another school, you must get a guest pass request form from the front office. Guest passes are due to the front office by Wednesday Oct. 23rd.
Congratulations to our 6th grade girls soccer team, and our 7/8th grade girls soccer team on their undefeated seasons and taking 1st in their respective tournaments this weekend!! Great job!
PHHS is starting Friday School this Friday, October 25th from 1:45-3:10 pm in Room 1. Students with multiple F's will receive an invitation to attend. All students are welcome to attend, but if you don’t have the invitation to attend, please sign up with the front office to ensure there is enough space.
If you worked on the VFW essay competition, Voice of Democracy or Patriot's pen, you will need to get the essay and your recording to Mr. Meinzen by Friday, so he can enter them by October 30th. If they are late, you will not be entered.
If you are interested in joining a Medical Club, join us for an informational meeting this Friday at the beginning of lunch in Mrs. Vough’s room 9. The purpose of this club would be to provide information about health careers and provide opportunities to volunteer in medical settings within the community.
HS Football plays against Creswell at home today at 7pm. This is Homecoming night!
HS Volleyball will be hosting a game on Saturday between Sisters and Creswell at 11am. Pleasant Hill will be playing the winner of that game at 1pm. These are league playoff games, so ASB cards will not be accepted.

The back parking lot will be closed to students/staff on Wednesday. Please choose an alternative place to park for the day. The lot will be filled with heavy equipment for our career fair.
The Middle School Oregon Battle of the Books team is beginning their weekly meetings this week! The team will meet Fridays at lunch in the Library. Bring your lunch; snacks will also be provided. It's not too late to join! Pop by the library when you have a chance and talk with the new librarian, Ms. Daphnie. She will give you all the information you need.
The art room is holding their annual costume contest today in the courtyard during MS and HS lunch and prizes will be awarded. There will also be a pumpkin raffle outside the art room, so come check it out!
