The Middle School Kindness Club will have their first meeting today in Ms. Huff’s room 5 during lunch. If you are interested in spreading kindness like confetti, this is the club for you.

Pleasant Hill Education Foundation is hosting their annual Breakfast on the Hill event on November 9th, from 7:30-8:30am in the HS Student Center. This year’s guest speaker is Tony Scurto, Superintendent, Lane ESD. There is no cost to attend but please RSVP to foundation@phillfoundation.org to save your seat!

If you want to make sure you get a yearbook for this year, the 2024 yearbook, please pay for it now. You may purchase them online – MS yearbooks cost $20 and HS yearbooks cost $60. The number sold dictates the number we print, so don’t wait!

If you received a nomination for the Pleasant Hill Honor Society, please join us on Wednesday at 3:15 for a short orientation in the Student Center. Talk to Ms. Bonaventure in room 13 if you have any questions.
If you plan on bringing a student from another school to the Homecoming Dance, you must pick up a Guest Request form in the front office. In order to get approval, these request forms are due back to the front office no later than Wednesday! All students attending the dance must be in grades 9-12.

Girls Soccer plays against Siuslaw at home today at 4:30. This is senior night!
Varsity Football plays against Sisters tonight at 7:00pm. This is our Homecoming game and senior night! Pre-game events will highlight our Youth Cheerleaders and Senior Football players and Cheerleaders. Halftime events include our Homecoming Court and HS class floats.
Juniors and seniors, if you are interested in going on an OSU campus tour, please sign up with Mrs. Duval in the HS Counseling office or see Mrs. White before Thursday.
The first day of practice for MS Girls Basketball will be next Tuesday, October 24th, from 6:30-8pm in the Blue Gym. In order to participate, you must first register online, make sure we have a current sports physical on file, and pay the $100 sports fee. Picture packets are in and will be handed out in your classes: 6th grade – Huff, 7th grade – McCool, 8th grade – Castle, 9th grade – Crimm, 11th/12th grade – Neill. We are holding parent-teacher conferences today from 1:00-8:00pm. For those of you who missed the deadline to register for a conference, please reach out to your teachers directly.
PHHS invites community veterans to come to our Tribute to Veterans on Wednesday, November 8th from 2:15-3:10 in the high school main gym. Students, please invite your relatives so that we can honor their service to our country. We will have patriotic music, honoring speeches, introductions, and free pie and coffee afterwards for our guests. Please email Mr. Meinzen with any questions: tmeinzen@pleasanthill.k12.or.us.

High school students, sign up in the front office if you’d like to ride the rooter bus to the Varsity Volleyball State Tournament at Springfield High School on Friday. The bus will depart at 9:00 and includes free entry to the game. Permission slips are required and may be obtained in the front office. There are a limited number of seats, so sign up now!

Girls Soccer traveled to La Pine for their league opener. They won 11-0 with 7 different players scoring. Senior captain Tressa Geyer led the way with a hat-trick, senior captain Dakota Hyland had 2 goals as did sophomore Trinity Smead. Junior Tessa Hammond had three assists including two from corner kicks. The Billies play #1 3A ranked Sisters at home on Thursday at 6pm.
What is Destination Imagination? Come find out in room 6 during MS lunch tomorrow! Pleasant Hill has had many successful teams go to Worlds…see how you can be a part of this fun experience! Meet Ms. Hladky in McCool’s room at lunch on Tuesday.
If your students are having trouble getting into Google Classroom or other things they should have access to, it’s probably because the Chromebook needs updating. To update a Chromebook, do the following:
1. At the bottom right, select the time > Settings
2. At the bottom left, select About ChromeOS.
3. Under “Google ChromeOS,” find which version of the Chrome operating system your Chromebook uses.
4. Select Check for updates.
5. If your Chromebook finds a software update, it will start to download automatically.
6. You may need to restart the Chromebook for the update to finish installing.
Middle School Yarn Club will meet this Thursday during lunch in Ms. Castle’s room 2. Ask Ms. Castle for a hall pass before Thursday lunch.
Miners Graduate Services will be on campus Wednesday, September 20th. Class Rings and Letterman Jackets will be on display for ordering during lunch. If you are interested, ordering information will be available in the front office.
Varsity Football plays Harrisburg at home tonight at 7pm.
Students in 7th and 8th grade interested in FFA and Agriculture are invited to attend an FFA and Ag exploration field trip from 8am-3pm on Wednesday, September 27th. Students do not need to be in Mrs. White’s Ag class to attend but they must sign up for the field trip with Mrs. White by September 20th.
Come find out how to be a part of an unforgettable experience with friends, as we raise funds for children with health challenges. We partner with Children’s Miracle Network to create this opportunity for our high school students. All funds raised are donated to our local Children’s Hospital. In addition to activities that build comradery, we put together a memorable pageant that brings our community together, celebrating our gift to the children in our community. * Fun Fact – Kids Helping Kids High School Pageants are the single largest donor to our area Children’s Miracle Network! There will be an informational meeting for all HS students who may be interested. Many roles are needed – organizational, art, choreography, motivational, etc. You don’t need to be a performer to join Mr. Billie. Join us on Thursday, September 28th during HS lunch in Room 20!

The Lunch Buddies program will be starting next month. Students in grades 8-12 are invited to apply to become a Buddy. You will be matched up with an elementary student, who you will meet with for lunch on Tuesdays for about 40 minutes in the PH Community Center. You will spend time doing various activities with your little buddy. Applications can be picked up and dropped off with Jami in the HS Counseling office. These are due by Friday, Sept. 29th. Please see Jami with any questions.
There will be an FFA meeting tonight at 6:30pm in the Student Center for all students in grades 7-12 who may be interested in this program. Parents and students are both welcome and encouraged to attend!
The first Oregon Battle of the Books meeting will be today during MS lunch in room 2.
PSAT signup sheet will be in the HS Counseling office. Deadline to sign up is October 4th. You may pay the $18 fee online or in the HS Counseling area. This must be paid before the testing date, which is scheduled for October 25.
Oregon State University Admissions will be in the HS Counseling office from 8-8:30 Friday.
University of Oregon will be in the HS Counseling office from 11:40-12:15 Friday.
MS Cross Country competes in the Woahink Lake Invitational at Honeyman State Park today at 4pm. They will be dismissed at 12:45.
